08 tm8pg motor mounts

once clutched correctly, the M8s do not have a belt eating problem...except in those rare conditons where any sled will eat a belt

besides the obvious:

-check the mount under the reed area, tighen as needed cuz this one likes to get loose...i went the extra mile and added two bomb proof zip ties that hold this mount to the mounthead center thingy (its very close to the mount)
- i also added an addtional mount like the M1000 guys do...its custom, you cant buy one, all you do is invert the angle mount used on an M1000 extra mount
- maybe you have a small hole under the primary, this was a problem for me, drove me nuts until i found it, so nuts i parked it and bought a 2010 stocker that now collects dust
- i also stuff high temp RTV in each rubber mount as to somewhat look like the 2010 and newer engine plate mount

left is what fits on the M1000, the right is what i made...now my engine does not vibrate at idle after adding this engine mount and stuffing RTV in each rubber

some rework on the bottom half so it would fit, not much room

Awesome post hatchers, i too just picked up the parts from cat for the 4th mount, but theres no way it would fit in beside the bulkhead. Great example of what needs to happen to get it in there. I am pondering running that mount horizontal under the motor, to a case bracket to the two bolt holes on the bottom side of the motor. Wondering if that might help control the torque movement just the same, or maybe better?

Hatchers,

Any pics of the zip ties? Not quite sure what you did there.
