08 nytro mcx 2 turbo clutch problems

Hi guys!! I am having a problem with my 08 nytro mcx turbo 2 clutched here at sea level. I am in Fargo ND which is at about 900 feet. I am slipping the belt incredibly bad. I have the 14.5 rollors, 8bu-oo weights loaded with rivets, shockwave helix set at 55 degrees, with 90lbs on stock spring secondary. The turbo is making 16lbs of boost and runs good. It has sea level gearing and it slipped the belt so hard it destroyed the secondary clutch(melted through from heat!!). It blew a belt so hard it broke the shockwave ends. I haven't been aggressive riding this sled due to the extreme clutch issues I'm having. Could it be the gearing causing these issues?? Any advise/help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks!!

Got the same sled and had the same problems. The secondary was pretty much melted. This is what I have and it seems to be working for now.

15-17 # of boost.

Primary has 74 gram dalton with to rivets making them 83 grams with blue brown blue primary. Also hear of guys running blue white blue. Both have similar #'s.

secondary has straight shockwave- green artic cat spring, shockwave all the way in. I have also tryed the purple EPI spring and it seems to work.

Gearing is 19-40.

However I'm running this setup at 3000-6000. I start riding from 700 feet though.

Not sure if this helps.

back off the helix about 48 degrees, had the same problem with a strait 51, its to steep of helix. run the epi purple on 0-1 and add more wieght in the primary if needed.

I don't normally believe in clutch kits but because I am new to turboing but I decided to order Ulmers supertip clutchkit for my boost levels at 1800 feet. This thing outta the box is clutched within 100 rpm of what I and he wanted and the clutches are cool as a cucumber. Backshift and all around drivability is awesome as well. I have 400 miles on the stuff now with topend runs, deep snow riding and all around abuse, alls well.

I agree with all above, you run to steep helix with to soft spring, way to little sidepreassure on the belt that lets it slip.
Begin to change spring to atleast Yamaha White, or one of the other mentioned here, but i noticed theres something called to much sidepreassure so i recomend Yamaha White set at 3-3 (60°), with helix @ ~47-48°, works well in most condition, but when snow gets deep and heavy, then a spring with even more sidepreassure works better.
Tune primary accordingly.
