I've had my dealer check as late as 3 weeks ago, no recall or updates for the Nytro MTX listed. Care to expand on that?

thats the thing tho mine is just over a year and a week old now, and they still havent got back to me i think ill call up yamaha now and see what they have to say

Very true, but I have yet to confirm that Yammie will provide at no cost to us '08 MTX owners.....

Are you asking about them giving you some new ones? I would doubt that, but they would install a new set for you for free after they have taken it apart and verified your stock ones to be bad....

Though, I am sure it depends upon your dealer....

I was referring to any recall status....yes, if it is proven as a failure in the one year point, I suppose they would warranty it as any other failure part. I keep hearing the "R" word, though, and haven't seen any proof of it.

My lower ball joints on the steering tie-rods are a little loose, not much, but there's a little wiggle room....how much is too much? Am I missing out on performance handling because of that slight clearance?

I haven't heard the r word either.... I am bringing my bad parts in a box to the snow show......to give to the yamaha rep.:p He will have to be a means of getting the info out/up there!

Anyone got the part # of the newest ones not sure any dealers around here could find them half the time they dont even know what a Nytro is

Just sold my propaned Nytro and had the same problem and he called me after he got it home. I called Yamaha RTA personally and they WILL pay for the repair on a case by case basis based on the milage if under 1500 they will pay parts and labor over 1500 just parts as a goodwill. There is NO recall on these as of right now and probably won't be that would admit liability and god know's yamaha would not do that!! Just FYI I have been a Yamaha dealer for 15 years and we can get just about anything warranteed with in the first year as long as you have a dealer who give a crap about customer service. If any of you guys have any issues with your local dealers give me a call and i will see what i can do for ya just givve them a shot first.

Just bought a used '07 Phazer MTX, apparantly runs the same ball joints. Sled has 1900kms, ball joints were bad. Called the dealer and they said there were no outstanding recalls based on the serial number. I asked if they could specifically tell if the ball joints were done. Yamaha said they could neither confirm or deny they'd been done, but they were usually done at the same time as the ECM upgrade. Long story short, they replaced both ball joints free of charge, parts and labour. Can't complain at all considering the sled was off warranty. I would ask the dealer to go to bat for you regarding your Nytro. Or find another dealer.....

Took mine in last week. The ball joints where destroyed and looks like they may replace my rear shock as well. After 2 minutes of bumps the rear shock turns to hamburger. 2000km

Pick it up next week I will let you know what the damage is.
