Please let me know.
My 08 700 dragon does not run smooth any where between 6500 and up it seems like there is a rev limiter shutting it down. It does this consistently, every now and then it will rev right to 7900,8000 rpms. Its not throwing in codes/lights. here is what I have done.
Hand/thumb warmers work,Headlight/taillight work.Instruments work. The charge bar is one bar from the top, New fuel filter, plugs, cleaned exhaust valves, new fuel. Compression is 120 in both cylinders.
3700 miles and has always run great.
Please chime in, is this the stat-or/vr that is in alot of posts? Any body have ideas. My dealer wants $100 to diagnose I would rather put the money toward parts, So again if any body else can give me Ideas I would appreciate it. Thank You

Check that spark plug boots are securely attached to wire. They just screw into the wire and sometimes they loosen up. Or to be really sure unscrew plug boots from spark plug wires, cut 1/4 inch off wires and reattach boots.

I think maybe a dead spot in your TPS...?? Id build or buy a tester and check that.

I found lots of videos and posts regarding the TPS. I built a tester and check the TPS on my sleds every year.

Good luck!

If I take the exhaust valve assemble out and compress the valve, then plug the hole on the cap with my thumb and the valve does not release wouldnt you think the bellow is good?
I have read some post that say it is the exhaust sensor . Any thoughts on the exhaust sensor if soo could I find one at a auto parts store that is less expensive? Thanks Again.

Thank You Napa Matt, I pulled the exhaust valves out and after further review the bellow on the pull start side had a tear in it. So hopefully that is my problem. Next on the list is to find out why the sled will stop running like the kill switch was pushed off. It takes one pull after that and it fires right up. It does this at least two to three times every time out. Thank for all the help.

I installed new exhaust bellows, springs and Gaskets. Took sled out for the first time since. It does exactly the same no change at all. Any more ideas. I will see about checking the tps. If this has happened to any body else please let me know what you did to fix. Thanks

I need help

I did all the suggestion listed still the same problem. Every now and then I get one check engine flash it seems. This is frustrating. To the dealer thursday.:face-icon-small-fro

Now what

I took the sled to the dealer. They adjusted the TPS, Base line was at.75 volts and needed to be at .69-.71, airflow was at .93 and needed to be at .94 -.96 and they told me my belt was bad. I took the sled out for a test run today, Nothing has changed I have the EXACT same issues only my sled Idles at 2500 rpms now. I called the dealer and asked for my Money back they said come get it. When I got there they were extremely RUDE and said they were only refunding labor, I tried to explain I was told to come get a refund, and stated I buy parts here all the time they said I do not do that any more and I would not get any money back and would not even talk with me. Then they called the POLICE on me for Trespassing (WOW) When the police arrived I explained my version the officer went inside and they had a check already made out to me for the Labor.Hows that for Customer Service? So back to the issue now that I have a code one or two flashes, it seems that is TPS or Coolant Temp Sensor?
Thanks to any body that can help.

Fixed It.

I forgot to follow up, I solved the problem, I should of went with my first thought. I decided to Take off the stator. After taking off the pull start housing it was obvious were the problem was, the electrical wires that come from the back of the staor and out the housing were rubbing against the fly wheel, two of the wires had the plastic insulation rubbed off and bare wire was exposed and they were touching the fly wheel as it spun.:face-icon-small-coo
