08 600cfi4 bog, poor performance

i need some help frim the cfi gurus. my 08 600 is not reaching its peak 8250 rmps, ive tried lighter weights and it helped slightly, but i can only get about 8000 on hardpack and 7850 in the powder. checked the compression tonight warm mag side 140 pto 120 so theres probably an issue there. also removed the power valves and the pto side piston is scuffed. on top of all that if im hauling across the lake for about a quarter mile it drops rpm and bogs down to around 6800 until i coast for a while then get back on it and its fine for about the same distance and does it again. also bogs from a stop, not snappy at all like i remember it. new to working on these newer machines please help me out if youve got any ideas, thanks.

well from the sounds of the scuffing and the compression you probably need to rebuild the top end. How many miles is on the fuel filter if it been a while put a new one in it. Check your primary clutch spring as well it could be weak depending on milage Hope this helps..

ive never changed the filter, the primary spring has 2 rides on it. does anybody know if a set of 700 cfi pistons and cylinders will fit in a 600, 1900 miles on the sled.

I wouldnt think so.. Different stroke and bore.. I would change the fuel filter for sure..

i thought the 660 kits were 700 pistons in a 600. just thought if i had to rebuild the top end i might go a little bigger too.

Pistons and cylinders won't fit alone, but find a 700cfi crank and they will and then sell your other parts...

I just so happen to have a spare '08 700cfi cylinder and head in good shape, maybe a trade straight up... I'm changing out my crank soon(when temps warm up) that would make a great core for exchange or rebuild...
