08 600 headlight switch

i just bought a 2008 600 rmk. the headlight swicht is broke it wont click in and out for high/low. if you pull the blue cover off it you can see the top part of the switch is cracked. and i dont have any headlight at all.

would just getting a new switch fix this?

I don't know that the switch only is serviced by Polaris? I believe you have to replace the total switch assembly. What I have done if you can't afford the entire housing is buy a headlight switch (goes on the dash piece below the handlebars) for an 09 or 2010 Dragon and just relocate the wiring.

You can first troubleshoot by bypassing the switch, and if bypassing works then you know that replacing the switch will fix it. If you dont want to pay the high price of the entire assymbly you can get some switches from RSI at www.rsiracing.net

I would not just replace the factory switch expecting it to fix the problem as there might be other problems also, which in turn might take out the brand new switch....
