So I'm fixing to throw a 154 xp skid in my 07 and I was curious if anyone has had to regear or reset the clutch. I know I'll need the 440 8th drivers just wondering about gearing.

I put an 08 154 skid and track in my 04. Not sure what your stock drivers are, but I went from 10 tooth to 8 tooth and didn't have to regear/reclutch.

i put the 154"XP track on my 04summit 151" rails with offset axle/big wheels. i used avid 8tooth drivers.

IMO with how light that track was i could have geared up from 19/45 to 19/43.

It will depend on what size track you had before doing the swap. If your tracks are not comparable in size though it'll will be off. The weight of track will be a factor as well.

Yes....

Variables...

Current clutching and gear?

Rider weight and elevation?

Other mods?

Call if you want a solid baseline set up...BJ

variables.. hmm not sure what variables? going from 151 to 154 using wahl 8th 2.86 drivers smittys drop bracket in the back will set on bottoback hole thinking about dropping the front an inch and possibly back and inch?? should i move it back an inch or not, not sure about this? I know the mount holes for the rev are about 32 in apart and the xp is about 30 anybody do any thing different here?

clutching is basically stock 415 ramps 160/260 spring 20mm wt in the arms and a team secondary.

gears are21/45

stock motor and riding around 5-8000ft

hopethats enough info

Once you drop your old skid you'll see a bracket for the front mount points. There's two holes, the front ones are already drilled out and are the stock location. I drilled out the back holes and used them. For the rear I drilled out the front holes and used them.

I went from a 144 to a 154 and it was well worth it. Taller paddles, longer track loved that sled.

Well, ended up getting the skid put in. Tried leaving the stock front holes alone put the skid in and the rear didn't even come close. Even with smitty's style drop bracket. Pulled the skid back out ended up drilling out the welds on the spacer plates in the front bracket. Moved it an inch down and an inch back. Nice thing is the two holes in the spacer are an inch apart. Rivited the spacer in the new location and tmounted the skid up. Bam only a small bit of cussing and got the back mounted. Now just waiting on snow.
