08-10 cfi 800 pistons compared to 2011 pro

Are the 800's in the new Pro the same block, pistons, head, etc as the older IQ Raws? As far as I knew the injection system was the only thing different, or are the piston to bore clearances on the 2011's tighter. I have an 09, put 1400 miles on the original motor with no problems, since the update, 3 complete topends and to finish last year off a 4th topend along with a crank. Since the update, I was only able to get 450 miles on last year with all the time it was in the shop. This year I am running a PCV but only have had it out for approx 100 miles. Is the real problem with the 08- 10 motors a fuel injection (mapping) problem, or a piston size problem? Or combined? What is the average piston to bore clearance on the 2011's?

Hard to say if the monoblock cylinder is the same. They do have different part numbers:
Cylinder:
3022205-Pro
3022201-IQ

Piston:
Pro: 2204322
IQ: 2204154

Rods:
2203584 Pro and IQ

Crank 77105283 (pro and IQ)

Both do have 85 mm pistons

Both also use the same circ clips 22mm x 1.5
3021840

I would say it is safe to assume they are the same pistons. I would certainly measure them before trying to use them.

the cylinders are different, they have a lower port roof especially on the exhaust and the injector placement is different..pistons i am unsure of, heads are pretty much the same fuel system/electronics are different..crank is the same(as far as I know), cases are basically the same but the pro lacks the lower injectors...I would imagine the pistons will be the same...might have a longer skirt to help with piston issues ..I would bet you could run 11 pistons in the older motors but you would need to compare them and do some measurements...

On the pistons, I heard the ring gap pins are in a different location. You would need to check that the ring ends don't go over a transfer port.

Sounds like a sled 09-10 can upgrade to a 2011..Probably by changing the main wiring, fuel rail, ecm, block and pistons..btw how cann you change the fuel pressure, is it in the ecm?
