08/09 Gripper Ski on 07?

I'm fairly new to snowmobiling but I've learned a ton from this forum. I'm riding a 2007 D7. I would like to go back to the stock Polaris Gripper ski. I have a take-off pair from an 08 Dragon. I know the spindle design has changed slightly from year to year 07 thru 09. Will the 08 stock Gripper skis work with my spindles? The skis came with mounts, ski bolt assembly, etc. Thanks!

The sled had C&A Ultra Pro Skis, which i've found is a race type ski. They were on it when we bought it, previous owner must have raced or ran on icy conditions. They would trail ok and were great on ice but made the front end feel real heavy in the powder. I live in Utah so we ride deep powder 90% of the time.

I've put the Grippers on, they seem like they'll work fine. On one side the ski sags a little when the front end is in the air. It should be fine but I don't want to endo if the tip were to stick. Is this normal? Any suggestions?

put new rubber bushings in..I change mine at least once a season(hate splitting them and taking out ski/a-arms and winsheild)

QUOTE: 801- "They would trail ok and were great on ice but made the front end feel real heavy in the powder." - along with skis check your limiter straps too. that will help with heavy feeling in the front end.

Thanks for all the good advice. Do you mean the rubber mounts that the spindles rest on?

Check what on the limiter straps? They look ok to me. They look similar to my bro's sled (09 D8 325 miles). Just not sure what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Yes, the rubber blocks that the spindle sits on, they can start splitting when the skis are pushed towards vertical over and over.

If you let the limiter strap out it will allow the track to bear more weight in the front, lightening ski pressure.

You can also make the sled steer easier by replacing the front track spring with the heavy duty 225 lb spring Part #7041822-067.It's about $35 and any dealer can get it for you.

Also going to a 6" carbide instead of the factory 4" will make it steer easier.
