08-09 154" track on an 07, will it work?

I was out at the snowies this last weekend when I went up a small climb and my track sucked up a rock about 12" wide by 6" thick and it wedged between the tunnel and the rear suspension and messed up my middle lugs and punched a hole in the track as well. I was wondering if the new 154 track would work worth a darn on a 151 07 summit x. I think the wheels would have enough travel out for it, I just don't know if the pitch of the track would work and if it had enough clearance. Anybody know?

wont work without changing your drivers to 2.86" pitch. If I were you id buy a 156x2.5 camo from tracksusa with the 2.54 pitch.

buy the 07 ' ski-doo race sled drivers they are the right 2.86 pitch, work perfect and are reletivly inexpensive. The track will fit just fine, run your rear axel all the way back to take up the slack. May also consider a big wheel kit to take up more of the slack. I would drop a tooth on the top gear to make up for the ratio of the larger drivers. This powdermax track will realy make a big difference over the over all performance that the challenger lite lacked.

You can't buy a 156x2.5 in the 2.52 pitch. Only comes in 3" and 2.86" pitch.

The track will work and you can get the drivers from the dealer pretty cheap.

I am almost certain that if you went with the 156 camo you would need to figure out how to take up extra slack by means of a big wheel kit or rail extension or ??? The 2.5 paddles wil rub somewhat on the top of the tunnel also because of the minimal clearence.

not arguing with you guys cause i'm not completely sure but... my understing what that the camo xtreem was the 3 pitch. you could still get some other form of camo with the 2.52 pitch. however... as far as clearence for the 2.5 i'm guessing you'll still need to go to a smaller driver.

dumb question... how much difference in drivers is there actually between the 2.52 & the 2.86 pitch? i heard of guys running the 3 pitch on the 2.85 pitch drivers with no problems. personally i'd rather run the right ones with the correct pitch, just curious.

ozzman...sorry to hijack your thread.

I know the 2.86 pitch is close enough that it will drive a 3 pitch track, but have not heard of anyone trying to run a 2.86 track on 2.52 drivers. I guess you could try it, but I bet the spred in too far to work right. I believe the 2.86 drivers are only around a $100 BUCKS and who want's to tear into your sled, change the track only to find that the 2.52 drivers just won't work. Spend the additional extra $100 and do it right the first time....IMO
