07 XRS Clutching at elevation

My 07 XRS has just been thru a clutching overhaul...all new bushings in secondary, bushing in primary, rollers in primary and new ski doo stock arms. My question is I changed my belt to the 377 and now have to be at clicker #5 to be at 8100-8200 rpm, versus with the 166 belt I was on clicker #3. Do I need to add/subtract pin weight so I can pull 8100-8200 on a lower clicker # or should I be concerned to be on clicker #5 now? Everything is running great now, sled pulls hard. Just a ski doo rookie clutching question. Thanks in advance!

About flyweight

If you want to run clicker 4 and maintain the same rpms, then go to clicker 4 and do a full throttle pull. You will prolly observe low rpms by 150~200 so then knowing flyweight law, you can reduce the flyweight by one gram.

The first thing you have to do is know your current flyweight. I have a flyweight legend here for BRP pins/metric setscrews.

What mastertech said...my biggest thing is it ok to run clicker #5 without problems and get the same RPM result as clicker #3 with my old 166 belt?

Nothing WRONG with running clicker 5. It will be snappier at low speeds on higher clickers but not pull as hard on top end. If you drop pin weight a bit to get on 3-4 for most conditions it will likely work better with less heat, then you will have clicker 5 for those days you ride higher elev. or the snow gets heavier.

Brew is correct. If you want to see for yourself, put your clickers on 5 when you leave the parking lot and observe performance. Then stop and change them to 1 or 2 to hit proper rpm's and you will be shocked at the difference. Not as snappy but much more top end at lower rpm's. Granted the difference is not as pronounced at elevation but you will get the point.

Thanks fellas...I will remove a little pin weight and go from there. Thanks for all the help! Heading to Alpine, WI in a few weeks so we will see how the XRS handles the deep stuff! Wish I had the jing to get rid of the challenger lite track, but gonna have to deal with it this year. Anyone have good tips for a basically stock 151" track for 6-9000 elevations?
