07 xrs altitude issue

I was in cooke city last sat. and as I headed up lulu pass it started to bog way down and I couldn't even make it over the top. I was up there two weeks before and it ran awesome all day everywhere. I put brand new plugs in and switched the belt but had the same results. no warning lights came on. it ran great down on the hwy going into cooke. any ideas where to start.

I had one of my Rave valves stick on my XRS last year, and the sled ran like a 440. It wouldn't rev over 7000 rpm and had no power. I rode it 6 miles back to the truck, and it ran OK on the trail, but no power. I had a Rave valve hose come off when the sled was brand new and it ran the same way.

It's more than likley the dpm solenoid. Mind did this last weekend. Ran great on the trail but would not even pull 3000 rpm's at elevation. Somehow it had some grit in it. Cleaned it out and tested and lubed the soleniod with wd and it works fine now. Be very careful when you remove the solenoid from the dpm housing as there are 2 o-rings on it. One is a small black rubber one and the other one is a white one about 1/8" wide. They tend to fall off very easy and are not easy to find. Trust me on that one. I would disconnect the hoses and wires and dissesemble and reassemble on a table.

ok. I checked all the hoses and cleaned the solenoid. it seemed pretty clean. there was some small grit in it. I pulled the caps off the rave valve and they both move very smooth. I did notice on the clutch side 3 of the 4 manifold bolts were gone and the 4th was half way out. could that have been part of the problem?

y pipe bolts were a commom prob loc tite them back in and you will more than likely be back rideing strong

that's exactly what I did was lock tite them in. although I didn't get the replacements from ski doo this time. I had this happen to my 2000 summit 700 and they were .89 each. went in to get the 3 more and it was going to be over $7. WOW that is a price increase. local hardware store it is. could those missing bolts help cause my bogging problem?

one more thing I forgot to mention. at the higher altitudes it idled just fine. it only bogged down under a load. not sure if this makes a difference but I figured I would throw that out there. thanks for all the input so far.

I suppose the solenoid could be dead as well.
Essentially, a solenoid is an electro magnet, apply power and it engages the solenoid. I have never tested a skidoo one, but I would imagine you could put on a ohm meter on the leads and check for infanant resistance.
