My 07 Summit lost a crank in late May. I took it to the dealer to get it fixed. It is now the end of July and the dealer is telling me that the crankshaft is backordered and they don't know when they will get one. This sounds like bs to me. Anyone else have this problem?

look around for an aftermarket parts company. take in your crank core and they should trade you a refurbished crank right there. They will take your crank core and send it out to be fixed and kept in stock for the next dude that needs one sooner or later... that is what the smart shops do. Can you imagine if you had to wait 2 plus months for your crank to come back over winter??? Not cool

Save yourself AND your dealer alot of trouble and missed riding time and do whatever it takes to get a '08 short block!!! They changes tolerances in '08....just swapping the crank and nothing else may result in more problems. Have them find SOMETHING wrong with the crankcase, even if it is "accidentally" dropped.

I didn't even think they were replacing the cranks on the 07's??? When mine went last December, they replaced it with a 08 short block! Dealer told me they had a problem with the 07's crank case tolerances.
the engine is an 08. it is my 3rd engine in this sled. my dealer can't explain why this thing has blown up 3 times. i think its time for a new sled if i can get this thing running long enough to trade it in.
