07 Rev - not holding RPMS, its a joke...

I love my rev, handles great, has ample power, but when climbing in the pow, it just doesn't hold the RPM's. I got all the recent clutch updates done, belt is adjusted properly. I took it to the dealer yesterday, I said to them "I just want this sled to run good as stock, and then I can worry about putting money into it to tweek it". They said they would take a look, pretty much called me back and said they should change the oil to BRP synthentic and adjust the oil pump. LOL, I couldn't believe that is what they would suggest. Is it really that hard to get these things running properly as a stock sled without tinkering? My 04 REV would rip and hold RPM's all day long. I just wish it had the torque like the 07's do...

Dealer told me they flashed the ECM before with the clutch updates (sometimes that works I guess?), they also check the RAVE valves and vaccum lines, everthing seems to be working fine. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this thing to hold RPM's as stock. Or am I going to have to tinker with the clutch, helix, weights, springs, etc.....I know by making those changes, things should improve, I guess I am just dissapointed that these things don't work right from the factory, and if they do, what can't the dealer figure out?

my 1st guess would've been RAVE valves, but it seems like everything has been looked over. Do you get max RPM's then drop or does it not even get over 8g's? What kind of altitude are you running at? Its good for 2 - 8feet stock.

Too bad it wont run good stock. These sleds can ran close to any other sled or long as they dont have a shot of gas or boost

I have been struggling with the same problem for now into second season. Ran ok on hardpack trail, but lost rpm under load, in powder or up hill or higher elevation. Clicking up did not keep the rpm. Felt gutless on top end under these conditions. All updates done by dealer, failed. I did the last update myself and did not help. Checked raves, exhaust bolts, cleaned clutches every ride, nothing changed. Finally looked at the weights in the rollers. !!!!!! My sled, 2007 800r 151 was supposed to be set up for 4000-8000ft elev. The weights from BRP were sea level wts, 16.3 grms. Recommended for elevation was 14.08 grms. Dealer never checked and told me they never do. They will from now on. After I changed to the 14.08, sled ran flawlessly under all conditions. This high rpm engine cannot run very heavy wts. Even the hillclimb race sleds are running no more the 15.5 grms according to BRP. SOLVED THE PROBLEM. the wrong wts bogged it down. Just rode almost 300km, wide open throttle much of the time, heavy powder etc. Clutches stayed cool, rpm stayed up at 8400 rpm without even a sign of drifting down. Tried a couple of different springs and helixes and all worked well with the right wt in the clutch. Love the sled now, ( hate the dealer still and brp) for not being able to solve this problem. I suspect many have had the same problem and might be solved as above. Check it out and let me know your results.

ya had the same problem, just got all the clutch updates done the other day after a huge mess, the first time they put the updates in some of the parts failed and screwed up all the internals of the primary plus is distroyed my belt, so i took it out last sat after they replaced everything agian and it ran not bad, did feel a little laggy if i was pinned going up a hill then let go then pinned it again but it did get back up to RPM. My clickers are set on 6 and i run about 1500M and get about 8200 RPM, right were the green line is.

However i have a major problem with my belts heating up, they get so hot after a few runs that i can't even touch them, i ride with a guy who has a 05 rev and he can ride all day his belts dont even get near to what mine are,
