Hey Guys,
On my 2007 M8 I am replacing the water pump seals and the oil seal. However, in attempting to remove the oil seal it appears to need the oil pump shaft removed, in order to tap out the seal. How does the oil pump shaft come out? I removed the oil pump housing, and the shaft slides about 1.5 inches back and forth smoothly, but doesnt appear to pull out on its own. What holds it it? Is there a pin on the inside or a keyway or something, its tough to see inside from the impeller side to see whats holding it but it appears to be a pin or keyway. Any tricks to get the shaft out (certain rotation ??) so I can pound the oil seal out?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
