07 M8 belt ?? to loose?

I just bought an 07 M8 with a cutler secondary and i was looking at the belt today and noticed that is seems kinda loose. When you pull the top and bottom together inbetween the primary and secondary they will almost touch. is this common? good bad? and when it sittis in secondary it sits about 1/16 of an inch inside the clutch. Shouldnt it be even or level with the top of the clutch? any comments are welcome. Thanks

look in you manual and find the section on adjusting your BELT DEFLECTION...it is a critical performance adjustment on your secondary..i think an inch to an inch and a quater is the adjustment pushed midway with a straight edge between the two clutches before the bottom bounces upward....generally the belt rides 1/8 above the secondary but the deflection adjustment supercedes that presumption

all the ones i've seen the belt rides about 1/8 inch above the secondary, even with aftermarket stuff in the secondaries...

Good guys at FO .. and know there stuff on OEM. You're talking with someone that has more knowledge then just a 'parts guy' who only knows how to look up part numbers. Have had a few discussions with them this year that were very helpful.

I like mine just tight enough so the machine will almost creep at idle on hardpack (track will barely spin on a stand if you give it a little nudge) and the clutches don't squeel at idle. That seems to be about 1/8" above the sleeve.

Found the problem guys... as i turned the bolt that holds the secondary on it pushed on the helix which made the clutch open up so the belt sat lower... all i needed to do was add 2 little washers to the little piece that comes off of the secondary after you remove the bolt. Now the bolt will only go on so far before the washers hit the crankshaft and stop the helix from being pushed.
