07' M1000...HP and weight?

I just bought an 07' M1000 with the following mods:

D&D Y-pipe, super q can, black diamond airbox, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, boss seat, 2 wheel rear kit, sno eliminators, 4 inch bar riser, slp powder pro ski's

Does the can, y pipe and airbox actually add power? How much weight do you think these mods took off? 30lbs or so? I haven't had it out yet but have read that the m1000's feel heavy, especially up front. What's the next best mod? A power claw? Pipe? etc?

Thanks!

powerclaw is amazing on the 1000 it woke my dads up big time. unless you are riding an m8 and switching back and forth, once you get used to the 1000 you wont really notice that its too heavy. M-chassis is so easy to ride anyway. Just headed down hill it will sometimes take you for a ride.

Definitely say next mod would be the Powerclaw. Y-pipe actually does add close to 10hp on the 1000s. You are probably also to 30lb weight loss with the mods you listed, just like you said.

Thanks for the replies. I'm probably getting ahead of myself already for wanting to put more mods on it! I haven't even ridden it yet and I bet it will be a blast. My previous snowmobile was an 03' F7 144" track with a little weight reduction. That thing was a blast to ride and throw around, but trenched badly; I'm more concerned with getting as much weight off of the m1000 as I can reasonable....more power wouldn't hurt either:face-icon-small-ton

Any other suggestions to shed a little weight and add some power??

I have a similarly set up 07 m1000. In the fall before I rode it I was thinking I needed to take more weight off, etc. Then I rode it. Other then maybe a powerclaw, it needs nothing. The weight is not a big issue at all. Just get your suspension set up right and enjoy it.

So with these mods probably around 170hp? I don't have a tuner, but have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator set at 48 psi. The 08' suspension, what components and how much weight does it drop? Is the power claw actually lighter too?

Thanks

watch your plugs at 48 psi. depending on your elevation, you could be lean. I am set at 52 at 700 feet. ride from 1000-8000, on road up to about 4k. plugs were pretty white at 48.

dont waste money to save 5-10lbs, you wont feel it.

I would gain some weight and put the stock air box back on. The BDX air box on the 1000 gives it a bad lean spot that you can't tune out.
Let me save you some time and headaches, been there done that.

What altitude do you ride at? I've run 3 sleds with Y, intake, can at a minimum, never run a box or reg on them & had no issues, but I'm rather high altitude.

I wouldn't run a 1000 with a stock intake, no way.

I could always tune out the bogs if they ever showed up, when I rebuilt I put the stock intake back on and its gotta go, less power and heavy.

The best thing you could do right now is a power claw and 09 bumper.(thats actually the first thing I would have done)

^^^ +1

After suspension, and the PowerClaw, really, I don't see what else you'll need...Oh, maybe a Space Suit, that thing will pull hard all the way up to the moon if you let it!!

Previous owner said that it runs very good but sometimes after coming down off a hill when off the throttle and then getting back on it it will bog some.

Also, when it is cold it bogs down but clears up when warming it up by riding/giving it a lot of throttle. He said that it runs rich when it's cold and that causes the bog, but it goes away once it warms up. It does have the 09' reflash. I ride around 6-7k elevation but previous owner had it at around 8-10k. I think the lower elevation will lean it up some and it should run good cause it was a little rich at his elevation.

I run 3-6K elevation, but being as it is EFI it shouldn't really matter.
All the sleds I have been around M7-M1000 the intake has been a disservice, stock air box is heavier but is designed to flow the correct amount of air.
Them AC enjineers reelly know what theys r doin'

Took it out today for the first time and was fairly pleased with it, but have a few questions. It has great torque and pull, but it does seem like it should have a little more power. It is about even with a buddy's 05' M7 that has only a can and clutching. I'm sure climbing a hill though it would be a different story. He also weigh's about 20 lbs less than I do, but doesn't it seem like I should walk away from him?

Also, the front is very heavy, I'm going to probably do the GEO mod, but it seems like the steering is in a bind; when it is not moving in the snow it is VERY hard to even move the handlebars; it feels like there is slop in the steering and something is going to break! Is this normal?
