07 IQ fixed steering post on Fusion 900?

Does anyone know if a fixed steering post off a 07 IQ/shift/other sled would fit a rmk/fusion 900? My u-joint has slop in pretty much every way and I want to remedy it while I have the engine out.

It depends on if it's a 2 injector or 4 injector. You might be better off just finding a good used one or buying a new one.

It's an 05 so it only has 2 injectors.

I'm also thinking about cutting off the u-joint and replace it with a new higher quality joint.. Anyone out there who has tried that?

If I recall correctly, Timbersled used to make a single piece steering post for the 900... I'm not sure how it may have differed from a factory RAW steering post however. Also check that your bottom connecting rod at the base of the steering post is tight... that's a common loose spot and may need tightening.

Too much work to put in a fixed post.... Plus, no one makes it anymore.

The 2007 will not fit.

Like seth said, check the lower mounts and the upper for slop... might not be the u-joint.

And if you want to get serious with the upgrade try Borgeson for a joint cant recall part # . But they had a nice piece that fit well.
