07 arctic cat m8 vs 07 ski doo summit 800

i`m thinking of getting me a new snowmobile, and the choice is between a 07 m8 and a 07 summit 800, so witch once is the best in reliability, climbing and things like that. thanks

I have ran the 07 rev with the SLP Heads Y pipe and Can... SOLID SLED !!!! climbed great .. you will not be disappointed

For me personally, a dialed in M8, with EFI is the most reliable...outside of a 4 stroker of course.

In those years, the M8 has the nod in reliability, but the Rev will lay the boots to it. Faster, climbs better, much higher stock seat and bars.

The only trick with the 07 Rev is finding one with the 08+ motor, the original 07 motor is a time bomb with the well documented crank problems. Many many of them have been replaced by now.

An 07 Rev with the newer motor and a good clutch kit hangs with any of the 2010 stuff no prob.

yeah it`s the same engine as the 08-10 summit, and it only have 550 miles in it, tha m8 have 2100 miles but its a litle cheaper, but both sleds are realy cheap, so don`t know yet. but i have started to consider a snowbike kit for my ktm to, looks real fun

if the rev has the updated motor, it will EAT an 07 m8, with it being there first year motor, the m realy didnt get to crazy and its not terrible impressive. I like M and Rev sleds, both great chassis, and good motors, but in those years, with only 550 miles, the rev is gonna walk all over the M, get some good clutching for it, and you will do a LOT with it.

The 07 REV 800s are the 03 Ford 6.0 Powerstrokes of the sledding world.

There gonna blow up sooner, or later. Most likely sooner:)

If you like the REV the 04-06 is a much better choice IMO.

The 07 M8 was not the strongest running year, but with some clutching and/or a SLP single you will be much happier then replacing engines all the time.

I certainly wouldn't call 08-10 800Rs reliable either.

AMEN !!!

How much cheaper is the m8, If you put a slp full exhaust on it Power Claw track and 09 style rear tunnel/bumper, it will stomp the rev. The 07 rev being as good as any 2010 is a joke, I've seen some 2010 xp's (full pipe and clutched) do way more than any 07 sled has. The XP's also go beat buy stock 2010 m8 and piped 09 m1000. I might consider a 06 rev but not the 07 or 08 ski-doo over the m8. Unless I liked to jump only.
