07 800R Nitrous question?

Hey guys, if I put nitrous on my 07 800R, and the engine takes a crap (what are the chances of that happening...................haha) will Ski Doo still warranty it? I still have this season to try to toast the engine, so I can get the new replacement engine before the warranty runs out.

Cool, that was kinda what I was getting at. I was more or less concerned if it would be detectable by the dealer. Because, honestly, I'm hoping that it will help the engine take a crap!

Make sure to get another air box or some thing. If they find holes in your air box they will say you had nitrous on it and void the warranty. I would make sure you are runing doo oil also. Doo dealer looks for any excuse they can find to void your warranty.

will not be warranty as the failure will be completely different from the issues those engines would/do have.

So upon disassembly any tech would more then likely be able to tell from piston alone what the cause of engine failure would be.

I have ran nitrous and turbo's on alot of stuff.

So tell me what would be different if the crank went out with and without nitrous?

If your engine burns up from too much Nos I doubt you will get warranty. As long as you use Nos correctly there shouldn't be a problem

If the nitrous is run correctly their is no way to tell if it has had nitrous ran through it or not.

crankwise probably not, then again like mentioned above if you have the machine setup correct and do not over rev it usually wont take out the bearings in the same manner (however like stated it would be extremely hard to diagnose that), most of the engine failures that go hand in hand with nitrous (like mentioned above) are do to burning it up.

on top of that however I think it is outrageous for a person to even have the notion that they should have warranty if they run nitrous/turbo... etc on engine components, and the OP trying to destroy the engine just so warranty can replace it, if there is a defect then yes the engine should be replaced/rebuilt but trying to make it fail is taking advantage of the system.

Also a tip for the up and coming criminal. Don't advertise your scam on the internet. Thats how you get the Stupid Criminal Award

i agree with the last two posts.

It also sucks when a engine is known to fail around 2,000 miles and yours fails a couple months out of warranty.
