pretty sure i lost my crank on my 07 800r still need to tear it down. Has any body had luck with skidoo still covering a short block. sled only has 1600ish miles on it. my dealer said they would give it a try but was wondering if anybody has pulled it off being yrs old. thanks

nope they wont do it they said maybe if it had less miles. anybody need parts it will be in the swap meet.

mine went out at the beginning of the year, i had 1404 miles. BRP payed for half of a new short block.. i think it is bull crap.. it was there dam fault , they should be replacing the ones that go out that are under the miles a motor should be expected to last.. i could see if a guy had 3500 hundred miles.. but under 2,000 it should be covered with no questions asked.. maybe have to pay labor cost. but the motor should be covered

I have seen BRP do many good faith warranties on '07 and '08's....or at least partial coverage. They have done it much more often than I would have thought they would. Might push it a little harder, what can it hurt?
Covering a 6 year old sled is a big stretch though-

the only reason i think they should, is on the 07 the cases were machined wrong, which leads to the bearing failure on the crank. i think expecting a motor to go at least 2000 miles is not to much to ask.. and when they new they had a problem with them i do not think it is asking to much..

ya i hoped they would help a bit. i get it though if they did replace every motor of that yr. it wouldnt be smart buisness from that point of view. they said they have had alot of people calling them on the same thing and if it was less miles then they would have helped. o well maybe i will bug them some more but just got a new one so dont wont to spend the money on the old when it could go into the new.

I wouldn't expect them to cover it nor do i think they should. It should just be expected that the 07's had an issue and needs to be addressed. They way I see it, unless it has xp cases or documentation showing the line bore was done, plan on sending the grand to do it.

Are you parting out the sled than or what is your plan with it if BRP doesn't cover the repair?
