07 800 xrs altitude compensator

Had trouble this weekend with my 800. In the parking lot and 3\4 of the way up the hill it ran perfect , but when I got to the higher elevations it seemed to be running rich . It started great but at 1\2 to 3\4 throttle it was boggy but if opened it up it would clean its self out and be okay.8300 rpm. At the end of the day comming down the hill it ran perfect again. How do you check the altitude compensator or do you think it is something different?

What elevations? DPM will only correct up to 10,000 feet, then you have to rejet a size smaller. If this is lower elevations, then yes, possible DPM issues.

dpm selinod

check the dpm selinod with a 12v battery making sure in opens and closes. the part is only 20-25 bucks. good luck

Solenoid??

My 07 X is doing the exact same thing. Checked solenoid it is good. Dealer said to replace it anyway so I have 53 dollars later. I wont know till sat I will keep you informed.

And check all the lines to/from the solenoid for kinks, snug fit, unplugged etc...

Replace solenoid and relocated computer under console. Went riding today and same problem.. I will check dpm lines again.

Just got back from the mountains and my machine ran great. I cleaned the carbs and replaced the solenoid and cleaned the DPM and the lines . Not sure what the fix was but it's fixed.
