07 600 rmk when starting jumps from forward to reverse and shuts down

After starting sled when starts in forward and suddenly kicks into reverse and engine then dies ???? Any ideas what causes this kinda new to sledding

Could be some moisture in the switch, had this happen to mine after washing it to put it away for the summer a couple years ago.

Something in the switch. Disconnect it and see if the problem goes away and if so then you know its the switch.

Same thing happened on my buddy's girls shift. Would pop in and out of reverse which turned to be moisture in the switch.

Disconnected swith and is still acting up , so I guess cant be moister either

follow the wires from the switch and make sure steering post hasnt rubbed any wires bare

The switch sends a ground signal to the ecu, it's possible to have a shorted wire between the switch connector and the ECU. I'd disconnect the ecu plug and measure to see if it is shorted.

Does it do this every time you start it? How about with a little throttle applied?

did you get this figured out? kind of obvious but when mine is very cold it wont go into reverse until temps come up

In shop and they are tracing the GREY wire to see if there is a short I will keep posting updates
