07 144 summit wont pull 44 helix in water Why

My friend has a 800r 2007 144x162.25
he put a new stock spring in the secondary and it holds the rpm in the soft snow but it wont if he wants to do a water cross is this normal for this sled I think he should be able to pull that 44 helix across water without the rpm dropping off

he would have stock everything but a hps can

mabey he needs to gear it down and toss a heavier seconday sring in there

anybody got this sled with or without this issue

The 2.25" track is lame for water skip....carries/packs to much water...a 1.25" is litterly the perfect lug height...BJ
 
The 07 doo's are no good in the water the tunnel clearance with the track isn't enough just packs the water in an drops off scary the first time round
 
44 is too steep for any mountain sled....not sure about the water thing.
Also have him make sure the rollers and bushing in the secondary and primary are in good shape. Primary rollers are usually shot at 4-500 miles, secondary bushing too. 44/40 or 44/36 would be a better choice IMO.
