07/08 M1000 ECU Update Testing Results

Are your sleds stock? What mods are done? Should not be a problem as the updated reflash is a lot better. Some guys with various cans are experiencing issues. Post whatcha got and Ill try to work you through it.

Here's what I have

08 M1000,
BDX Black Box
RK Tech secondary
SLP Pipe/Y/Can
SLP MTX Weights
STM Valves
Boondocker control box
AEM A/F Guage
Bikeman fuel pressure regulator (set to 44lbs)
I installed the SLP Pipe set last Sunday and the sled ran awesome with the stock valves. I then installed the STM Valves on Wednesday with 2 shims under the spring. The valves begin to open at 5400RPM's; is this correct?? My fisrt thought was that the valves are opening too soon and the sled is loading up in the midrange. But my sled is doing the exact same thing as the guy on the last post before me described. Also on my A/F guage I'm down to 10.2-10.5 in the mid range.
As I said before though, the top end flat out rips. 12.3-12.8 A/F at WOT.
One other thing:
With the reflash, should I now be runnning SLP's 09 M1000 boondocker numbers?? The 09 numbers are way leaner in the midrange then the 08 numbers. I'm thinking this may cure the problem

Thanks for your help Racinstation.

mines got a little bit of a trail bog in the mid range mid throttle still, thoughts it better than before. having tough time dialing it out with the boonie.

SLP pipe set
56/64 gears
BDX intake

43psi

any help would be great.

thanks.

Ditch, yes you need to be running the 09 numbers. You will notice that they are way leaner in the mid range. This will clean up your mid #s. Your top end sounds just right.

MRQUICK: Same for you...try the 2009 setup. The update sets up the 2007 and 2008 sleds to the 2009 specs.

Thanks for the pointers.

Racinstation,

Thanks for your help. I'm gonna put the numbers in and take it for a rip here in a couple hours. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Racingstation, My 08 m1ksp is stock has an HPS can only it is real rich in the mid. Befor the flash it had a slight blurble at 6500 rpm now it is bad. THANKS FOR ANY HELP

Took it for a ride.

Racinstation,

I took my sled for a ride with the 09 numbers plugged in. It definitely runs alot better. I still have a slight burble around 6800 RPM,s. On SLP's #'s it says 10 for the mid @ 7200.
My box goes 3000,5000,6250,6500,6850,7250,7850. I have the 7200#'s in the 6850#'s on my box. I took the 10 down to 6 in the mid. Still a slight burble, but seems to be workable now. I'm gonna concentrate on tuning out the burble and it should work real well then.
Your thoughts??

i already loaded in the 2009 BD numbers from SLP and mine was pretty lean in the mid - like upper 14s on my AF gauge. I also have to run much higher numbers on the top end to get plugs and AF numbers right... any thoughts on the mid bog? also that 10+ at MID 7200 seems way rich. My sled burbles like crazy at that rpm and AF numbers drop into the mid 10s to mid 11s!?

First ride to the mountains (0-2000 feet) on the new reflash... Not impressed at all. Sled is stock other than M8 gears, BDX intake, and an SLP can. Bogging at around 4-4500 RPM. Very poor throttle response. Fuel is at 41 psi. (our fuel is 4% more rich than lower 48 fuel) I'll try my D&D can and adjusting the fuel pressure, but I've pretty much given up at this point. Cat needs to get their sh!t together or take their junk back.

ok so i understand...there was a reflash for the 07/m8 that came out first early and now there is a second reflash..???...and its this second reflash that is far more effective then the first..???...thanx

My guess is with our elevation this re-flash is not going to help us out. I' m not planning on getting the reflash, I'm far from stock so I don't have a warranty to loose anyway

Burned up 1st ride after reflash!!

Hey Racinstation, my buddy had his reflashed this weekend 1st ride out only made it about 5 miles and he heard a pop then it died. Pretty sure it ate a piston. Never had any problems before the reflash. He runs the stock pipe with a speedwerx tunnel dump can and has a BDX intake. Have you had anyone have an issue like this? We ride around 10 to 12K elevation.

Have not seen any problems, especially at this elevation. You should be fine as far as fuel delivery. I doubt it was a lean burndown.

Just had the reflash done on two of our 3 M1000s (2008). All 3 sleds are completely stock except for MBRP cans on the 2 which were reflashed. Went riding yesterday and we were not impressed with the change. The problem we found were that both reflashed sleds seemed to be running too rich and hesitating when getting on and off of the throttle. We found no difference as far as WOT performance goes. When drag racing the reflashed sleds against the stock sled, they were all identical. So it seems we have no horsepower gain or loss but throttle response seemed to suffer. The dealer that did the updates did NOT modify the air box with the extra screen but did the rest of the changes. We will modify one of the air boxes with the updates and post results. Any input from other people is appreciated!

Ive got the same problem I had the latest reflash and now it runs terrible does someone know where they changed the fuel curve because it runs really fat in the midrange runs fine up top and down low but in the mis it SUCKS

MRQuick, post your #s and Ill look and them and get some revisions up.

Here's my latest numbers.

fuel pressure is 43

mods are BDX intake and SLP pipe set.

numbers:

3000 00 00 00
5000 01 02 00
6500 01 -01 01
7200 01 02 08
7500 03 08 20
7800 03 10 24

FYI - its a little boggie on the trail at MID 5500 - though it seems the AFs are correct at upper 13s, and it sputters at 3/4 throttle at around 7200, which is where AFs look to around the upper 10s or lower 11s. WOT rips, but AFs are still around 13.1 even with +24 on the big end.

does anyone know where they changed the curve on the new mapping?low mid high?I should have left it alone

Got my crossfire done it seemed to clean it up a lot everything is stock.Put my sno skinz can on and it ran like **** bogged out of the hole sputtered in the mid put my muffler back on it ran great.
