Guy's i need a little help. I bought one of joes kit and i'm trying to put the Helix back in the secondary. I have never had one of these apart. others but not this style. Do you have to pre load the spring? I can't see any marks.

Help

Thanks very much

Shouldn't need to preload if it's the same as an 07 roller secondary....but you better wait for a second opinion from a guru that knows the 06 secondary by heart. Hope this helps (I had to look it up in my shop manual the first time I took mine apart, so don't feel bad...matter of fact it was to put Joey's kit in as well....LOL)

No preload. If ya don't have a compression tool, can just use a piece of running thread w/big washers & nut. crank her down making sure the helix is going straight in & rollers will fall in the ramps. Get it dwn far enough to get 1/2 retainers into grooves in spline & you're done. Make sure you put plastic cups on sprine the way they came off.
