06 Rev, loose the right Spark plug every ride

Last three rides I’ve lost the right spark plug on my 06 Rev. Change the plug and I’m good for the rest of the day and into the next ride. No warning just happens under load (on a climb). Plug looks good but doesn’t fire.

My brother suggested a new coil, any ideas welcome?

Just went through the same thing on my 04 800.After doing some inspection I noticed the plug wire had a small cut in it.It was letting the ground out .I would check the wires closely and repllace them if that dosent work replace the coil.Hope this helps

Doos don't generally eat plugs. Is it running alright? Might want to pull the head and see if anything else is going on.

Hopefully, though, it's an electrical issue for ya. I'd get a new plug cap, they're cheap.

Thanks

Just had the motor rebuilt (5 rides before this started to happen) and it runs great until the plug fails. I'll try the coil, wires and boots.

Spark plug cap...where the wire goes into the cap the wires wear out and cant make a good connection. You will see when you pull the old cap off that the wires look burnt or simply gone. Cut the old wire back till you see good wire and install a new cap. Hope this helps , Dino

IF I were you, I would start with checking wires.. Heck, If you havent replaced them before just replace them.. You could be burning up the ground of the plug.. If thats not a fix, look into the coil..

This is one of the most common problems I see on BRP sleds with higher miles. The stock plug caps are terrible at preventing arcing so you get carbon buildup until you have spark problems. SnoTech even mentioned it in their magazine recently. The key is to use a liberal amount of dielectric grease but even then I've seen issues. As soon as the problem surfaces I will cut the plug caps off and use the SLP race versions. They are non-resistor type, just like stock, so there are no worries and they last much longer (better materials). http://www.startinglineproducts.com/catalog.cfm?pageID=detail&catalogID=4&catID=28&productID=426

Have FUN!

Coil would likely effect both plugs equally not just one consistently, check or replace wires and see if that fixes it :face-icon-small-hap.

Thanks guys, got er changed now we just need Snow for the test (rode Coq Monday and even the secret spots are tracked out).

Interesting, the mechanic said if the wires reach you can acually swap the leads. Both plugs fire at TDC and BDC.
