Been in the background absorbing all the valuable info from this forum, for a long while. About time i stepped out from the shadows, Building a 900 from a salvage wreck, from parts acquired over the years, Haydays and Ebay. Have a few motors 05 and 06, and both chassis also. Even an 05 4 injector (they were up to something, not like the 06 version)
But my question, i have a damaged ring gear from an 06 magneto, i measured the position of the pick up from the ring that is pressed on. Compared to the two that are machined onto the body, this rings pick-ups are not symmetrical to the fixed one by 0.35 degs. May of moved , when it was damaged, I can remove and repair this ring, but does this ring have to perfectly positioned/symmetrical or is the ring pressed on approximately?

I had a couple of flywheels from my 900 but I must have tossed them after I sld the sled, but a suggestion, put your question in the Polaris 900 section, you,ll get a ton of help there. If memory serves me there is a stainless sleeve in the flywheel that can come loose and cut the magneto, check yours.
