06' M7 top end rebuild?

My wife's M7 has about 3400 miles on it and still runs like a top. She loves the sled and wants to keep it. I'm just thinking that the miles are getting up there and maybe I should be thinking of going through the top end at least. I usually follow the "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" policy but don't wanna push it.

There not all hard miles but I have occasionally taken it for a back up sled.

What do you guys think? Should I dive into it or just ride it? If I go through it, would the top end rebuild be sufficient? What am I looking at for dollars?

AJ you should just trade it in for one like yours lol. It will probably go 5000 miles no problem but fresh pistons would not be a bad idea. I will check it out in the AM and contact you.

mine had about that on it when it popped ruined a cylinder and the head so i did bikeman big bore kit with all the goodies billet head ypipe timing key really liked it rode it 1 1/2 seasons then sold it to a buddy he is still running it

I've got 5000 miles on my 05 M7, it too runs like a top. I am however going to do the top end before I ride this season. It was in the back of my mind all last season (I started with 4000 last season). I guess you never know, it will be interesting to see what it all looks like when I tear it down.

i'm too am at 5,000 miles, new pistons for me this season. figure don't want to push my luck.

LOL.. Maybe next season you can have it... I see another new M8 in her future.

I need to go out and do a compression check on the cylinders. Maybe I'll get out there this evening. The motor has been rock solid and given me no issue's at all. I have only done the power valves once a season and changed the plugs just because.

Gotta love Cat's realiabilty.
