06 900 SB problem I can't figure out

When I fire the sled up cold it runs and idles fine especially after I set the tps to where it suppose to be but after she warms up and you are on a ride she develops a bog between 2000 - 4500... I run up past it and it's fine but once I hit 6000 I get a check engine light (blink 6 times, DET). When I come to a stop and let it idle it erratic and farther into riding and coming to a stop it gets to the point where you have to burp the throttle or it will stall. When I look at the charge meter on the MFD I see anywhere between 2 to 4 bars. I've tested the capacitor and it tested out great, charged it for 10 seconds with my charger and tested the voltage with no drop at all. I have no clue as where to start anymore, is it a bad DET sensor? Is my stator going to crap after it warms up? What are the known issues with the 06 900's? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
DJ

I've got the exact same issue, see my post "Erratic Idle". My sled does'nt throw any codes either. I've replaced or had tested almost everything on the sled, except for the capacitor, regulator and ecu. I just put in a new stator and I'm going for a ride tomorrow. I hope it clears up the issue, I'll post what I find. If it doesn't, my next guess is the regulator, as it is may be throwing inconsistent voltage, which in turn is affecting the TPS and ECU as it relates to timing and runnablility as the sled warms up. Boy I'm sure getting tired of throwing $200 here and there to fix the mystery. When the old 900's are running consistent, they're hard to beat.

You can't beat the 900's when they are running right. I bought a new 06 in 07 but wrecked it going across a bay when I hit a pressure crack... Got the money from the insurance but couldn't find another 06 so I settled for my 03 700 sks but knew one day if I ever came across another 06 900 for sale I would buy it without hesitation but alas here I am still bound to my 700 cuz I can't get this 900 to run right.... Every other forum points me to snowest so that's why I'm here... so far everyone has been great

One problem solved, the throttle lever was out of adjustment. It was out of tolerance so when you were sitting there idling it was causing the throttle assurance to kick in... now on to the DET and mid range bog

The stator wasn't the problem. Still have full power on the topend but the midrange-bottom end bog was bad, it won't hardly idle. So now on to some other parts. I'm guessing regulator that is throwing inconsistant voltage. Just a guess, I'm stabbing in the dark! This thing has run flawless for 2000 miles, I tried some preventative care...... That will teach me!!

I took my to the dealer, they can slap a digital wrench on it and trace it back since the ecu logs everything... good thing the dealer owner is my friend so my shop fees will be low... LOL

On my 06 RMK recently, the display was screwing up turning on and off and sled stalling and low charge. I seperated the regulator harness connector and with a small pick pushed the terminals on each wire so they would have a better tighter connection. Then tie straped the two connector halves so they were held firmly together and tied with strap off to the side where they couldnt shake around. I had also unbolted my regulator awhile ago and re-bolted with wires facing forward into engine compartment. The gas tank and wiring were rubbing, wearing into the tank/wiring before. Never had DET codes when I had similar running issues twice now. Both times now have been tps wiring harness. Lightly pulling on wires indevidually reveiled wire broken inside. The insulation will stretch like rubber kinda. Do this with warm underhood or at room temp. Dont get carried away with tugging at wires!(dont pull to hard) Obvious when you see it. Had no codes then either. Last time it happened, could barely get low tps voltage code by riding down trail (at night) and watching engine light while slowly going through throttle range. Light would flash only at about quarter throttle. These problems would go away when cold and get really bad warmed up.

And ding ding ding!!! We found the problem... Stator took a poo on me.... It was fine when cold but after a warm up it was losin the juice... the dealer has one coming and I should be back on the trails by tuesday
