06 600 Summit SDI problems..help!!

Last Sat. I rolled my sled and snapped the steering post. Everything with the engine seemed to run fine and we were able to tow it back to the shop. We welded the post back together to be able to get it on the trailor while I wait for my new post to come. I put heat on it and melted and scooped out all the over the weekend.

Now I'm in Island Park and went to start it up this morning. Everything started fine but it wont stop beeping. I let it warm up for quite a while and it still is beeping. It wont rev past 3000 and when it gets close to 3000 it back-fires.

I checked the spark plugs and the fuses and they are all fine. I'm assuming something electrical is wrong, but I'm not sure what.

I'll be taking it to the local BRP dealer, but as it is Christmas time they are closed today and very busy for the next few days.

Does anyone know what could be going on? Maybe as we welded it it burnt some essential wires? Has anyone had the same problem??

I appreciate any help, the whole family is here at the cabin and there is 26 in. of new snow that fell over night. I need to ride!

Thanks!

Sounds like your key Isnt on completly, Are there could be moisture in the key. Welding is not good on electrical compents.

also make sure that the little star shaped thing is inside the DESS key, thats the only thing i know of that would do that, and those stars do fall out now and then, and when they do the key is sometimes rendered useless/

Thanks for all the help. I checked the dess key, put heat on it and got all the moister out of it and fiddled with it with the machine on. The beeping then stopped and everything worked normal :D Christmas riding is a-go again. Thanks
