05 summit bog, HELP

Alright here's the deal fellas, I've got an 05 summit 8 144 with 2400 miles. New top end has 400 miles on it and has ran great untill Saturday. About three quarters of the way though the day she started bogging, it only bogs to about 5000 rpm then runs fine. It sounds and feels like it is only running on one cylinder below 5000 rpm. Changed plugs and no difference. Checked for spark and both plugs are good. I broke the kill switch a few rides ago and have been choking it out to kill it. Thought the choke could be stuck but thats not it either. Is this a symptom of when the stator is starting to go? Bad coil? Something else? Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

I got an 06 ptek 800 and two weeks ago I think my sled was doing the same thing. I didnt check the rpm's but whenever i let off the throttle and then gave it about a quater throttle to just cruise around mine would bog down and sound like its running on one cylinder too. Changed the plugs and it stopped but when mine was doing it I was riding in about -5 to -10 temps. The next weekend it was like 25 above and it stopped doing it. Dont think this helps your problem but i was just curious as to what the problem was too if anyone knows.

So I found the problem as I was taking the carbs out of the rubber boots on my way to check the reeds. Turns out there is a gash all the way across the top side of one of the boots, I can fit two fingers in the hole. Thanks for all the help and for pointing me in the right direction. Has anyone else torn or blown these out?

We just replaced a set on a 830 big bore in our group, i had to replace mine on my turbo sled two years ago, both sets had torn boots the reeds were fine.

those boots are pretty easy to tear. i tore mine regularly that is until i bought the boyesen rage cages. they are cast aluminum. and are worth the money. better imo than the v-force. the other cause of your problem is quite more often the vaccum hoses coming disconnected.
