05 rt lost RPM?

Riding my 100o rt last a couple of weekends ago and after taking a break for a couple of minutes started it up and would only pull 7000 rpm's for say 1/4 mile. pumped throttle a couple times with no response over 7000. Shut if off and immediatly restarted and pulled right back to 8000 when I took off. Did not think much about it ran good all day. Last weekend during a hard day of riding did same exact thing, took a break started it up and 7000 rpm's, shut it down and restarted, right back to 8000. Runs great, but got me a little nervous. any help?

just wondering if you have ever cleaned your E-rave's? Mine run's bad when they need cleaned. Make sure you have spare gasket's when you do it though, or you have to be carefull not to damage the one's you have. Hope it help's. also check your cables on your e-raves and make sure they are not to loose. Good luck!

Your e-raves were stuck in the closed position; the first time you grab a handful when you start the 1000, the e-rave actuator will try and determine cable tension when the engine reaches 7000rpm.

When you back off the throttle, the e-raves should close and function normally after that. You will hear a definate change in exhaust note when this happens, because they are moving slower than they would during normal operation.

If for some reason your raves did not open during the cable tension test of the actuator it will not open the raves normally until you shut it off and re-start it.

My suggestion: buy a new set of gaskets, a can of carb cleaner, and clean rave valves and adjust the e-rave cables by the book.

just my .02
