05 RMK 900 rear suspension

Hey guys, my rear suspensiuon seems to "sit" a bit low and if i pull up on it, it will come up a few inches, but settles back down.... it doesnt look abnormally low compared to the sleds ive seen on here, just wondering if there is a way to adjust the rear suspension to "jack up" the rear end again? The manual is the sh*ts, and doesnt do a great job for a newbie to sleds like myself. I'll post a few pics on this thread once i figure out how to on this contraption.. thanks in advance,

springs

Mine had the same problem and it was the torsion springs. The stock springs are made for someone that weighs 100# :face-icon-small-hap

But seriously if you search this forum for torsion springs you will find everything you need. I eneded up going with some of the stiffer ones that a lot of the guys here on the forum run. When you search you will find a thread with the Polaris part numbers.

Depending on what pre-load your sprigs are on, you can try to stiffen them up a bit.

Look at the upper end of the torsion springs where they connect with the rear scissor arm, there should be a small rectangular plastic block that you can turn with your spark plug wrench. Once you turn the blocks so that the long leg is pointing up towards the spring, your on the highest setting. If that is not enough, then you will need to replace your springs with stiffer ones as recommended above.

Hey man, thanks a bunch, until i looked hard, I couldnt even tell that the torsion springs and the little blocks COULD move.... would be nice if the manual at least mentioned it..... anyhow, There is really only the "stock" setting, and the alternative, about a 2-3 inch move stiffer. Now the sled rides higher, and certainly makes me feel a lot more confident. Im about 200lbs and hopefully this can get me through the season, guess we'll find out tomorrow.... Good deal, let us know how it goes.

Anyone can upload pics... you just have to use the 'attachment manager' just below the main reply box under "Additional Options"

:D

Wow, if you were riding in the soft position changing it to the stiffer setting should make all the difference in the world on how the sled handles.

Ck spring tension on front shock while you are under there, might want the "carls" set up if you don't already.
