05 Cat Daimond drive need Help M7 141

a friend of mine bought an 05 M7 141 and the previous owner must not of had oil in the diamond drive, yada yada he never checked it and went out riding and the gears are smoked, we dont know much about gearing or what will all fit this. Does any one have any parts or ideas let me know

I have no idea what will fit in there, but was just curious if the new DD actually costs a grand! Mine is still holding up, but who knows how long it is going to last. I have heard that there are aftermarket replacements that actually work better, hopefully somone one here will chime in!

Pretty vague in your description. What does "smoked gears" entail? Are they damaged........missing teeth........??? How about the bearings? If he ran it out of oil I would guess the bearings are all shot. As stated Black Diamond Xtreme has gears, seals, bearings, but if the planetary gear is shot you may have to get one from cat. Not sure if BDX sells the planetary.

I had this same unfortunate miss hap except it was my sled all along changed the oil last year and sealed her up sprung a leak somewhwere and toast so I will tell you what i purchased and what is back ordered.... most likely you took out the planetary the speed sensor the lower gear and all the bearings witch is i believe 4 seals and three bearings you can order the parts yourself from your dealer and do the work yourself it is quite easy all the parts i bought cost me $215 and 30 minuets to take apart and put together now to the back order problem the magnetic retainer ring is on back order till the 26th if they do not extend it but I have looked at and studied the gearcase and how it goes together and the only purpose i can see for that part is to be the speed sensor so if you do not mind not having a speedo then buy the parts put it together and ride

Exactly what parts did you get for $215? Planetary alone is over $300 from cat.

I do not know who is selling your parts to you but all the dealers that i called would have sold me the planetary for $125 and that is what i paid. If you want you can call cookecity motorsports and they will get you what you need and have it drop shipped from arctic cat for you free freight also. The other parts purchased were stated in the previous post 4 seals, 3 bearings, bottom gear, magnetic retainer ring,
