HAVE A 05 9OO RMK 159 INCH, RIDE IT AT 1000-1500 FEET, HAS A SLP HIGH FLOW INTAKE, V-FORCE III, SLP SINGLE PIPE SET. COMPLETELY STOCK SET UP OTHER THAN 78g WEIGHTS IN PRIMARY. ANY SUGGESTION, LOOKING FOR MORE BOTTOM END AND MORE MPH TOP END. DO MOSTLY TRAIL RIDING WITH SOME POWDER WHEN THERE IS SOME TO BE FOUND. MOSTLY FLAT LAND .

Did you just get this? It really isn't meant to be a trail sled and doesn't work that well for it, Gotta have ice scratchers and run them all the time. Unless you have switched the track if you get any more speed out of it you are going to blow your track on the trails too.

I would swap that 159 out for a 144 with tip up rails and a cobra track, no studs on outside rows, and that will free up some torque. And you'll have a nice trail rider with awesome boondockin capabilities. Sell your old track and rails and prolly pay for half of the new setup!

Im a flatlander and my 144 does great on trail! And don't even think about followin me off trail:face-icon-small-coo

But deffinitely get the tipped up rails they give you manueverability of a 136 on hardpack and the flotation of the 144 in the powder!

Yah, cause you would stuck in Montana in the 6 foot deep Powder...lol

If you are going to put money in it and you only ride trails the 144 is probably a good idea except that the back of your sled will hang out a mile past the track. 159 is same length as 166 tunnel.

You could probably get away with just swapping to a trail track with shorter lugs so they don't overheat at high speed. Rails are tipped up from the factory but it will still handle like a long track on the trail. If you do want to do the swap to a shorter trail track check ebay, there are rails and other 900 parts on there all the time.

You will still have to run scratchers most of the time unless there is a couple inches of powder on top because the 900 didn't come with a very good cooling system. It works great in the powder but they overheat bad on the trails. I had to rescue a few guys in island park when they started using these as rentals.

Change the secondary helix and make sure your clutches are set up for your altitude and make sure you have venting for airflow to keep the clutches cool.

WHAT SHOULD I USE FOR HELIX AND SPRING? HOW ABOUT THE GEARING. WE DO HAVE POWDER I AM SAYING THAT IT WILL NOT BE USED IN THE MOUNTAINS MUCH...

you can run it on the trail no problem using ice scratchers. What you can't do is run it at continuous high speed because it heats up the track paddles and they will fail. I believe it says do not run over 50 for extended periods of time with the tall paddle tracks. If you have the 2 inch paddles it will do better on the trail all the time then the 2.4 inch paddles.
Check the back of your driven clutch first. There should be some numbers on their such as 64-38-36-ER. That is the stock one, if you have it this is a very high priority to get it changed. Sean Guidoexpress on here has a helix for sale. Indydan recommended the black/white spring with 1 delrin washer.

I have ice scratchers installed. Wondering if anyone has tried the dual helix and what would be a good one to get and where? Also wondering what would be a good gearing setup and what pitch chain i would need?

Most of the Helix's are dual angles. If you are only riding trails and flatlands most of the time the stock gears will work for you. You could drop 1 tooth on your top sprocket and still use the stock chain.
