05 800 check engine light came on

had my check engine light come on this afternoon before we left the sno park. i rode it up the road and it eventually went off after gaining some elevation. everything ran fine all night but it cam back on when we got down towards the truck again. Any ideas? sled has just under 1100 miles, i bought it this year and have put on about 150 of them. Only thing i have done to it is new plugs, new gaskets on the Y-pipe and drained old gas and ran it. Hit 8100 RPMs all day

I got one heading back to the truck last weekend on my first ride re started and went away, Is there a way to pull codes or anything?

Ya i think most ski doo tech shops can plug your sled in to a diagnostics computer or something and it will give them a code for whats wrong. They usually charge you though so i was just asking to maybe narrow it down a bit.

maybe you let it sit a little to long while warming up and it overheated a tad before you got going? then maybe you weren't getting enough snow on the coolers on the way back on the trail and it got a little hot again?

Good point, o guess i did let it sit for a bit before riding it and then we rode mostly on groomed roads with not much snow, i bet thats exactly what it is thinking about it now, hopefully thats all anyways! THANKS

Will the check engine light show when it is hot? I thought there is a temp light. I am having check engine light issues too!
On mine (06 rev 800 HO), it only flashes at idle or a little above idle mostly. If i am cruising at a higher rpm, it is off.. I am trying to figure out mine still.
Suggestions??

Does the light that comes on look like (!) on the right side bottom? because thats the on that goes on and off on my 05

The light with the ! comes on when the brake lever is pulled. Its to warn you when you leave your parking brake on.

The light that is on mine is the light that looks like an engine.

I have a 07 800 and my check engine light comes on and the code is the det sensor. and the light that looks like(!) comes on and most of the time i can twist the teather cord cap and it will go off.
