05 600 switchback exhaust valve problems

My 05 switch back is melting down the exhaust valve on the clutch side if anyone has had this problem and knows what the fix is it would be greatly appreciated thanks

Is the metal valve melting?
What are your valves made of?
Is the rubber diaphragm melting?
Have you been racing your sled?
Do you have an air leak between at the air box rubber boot?

Don't be surprised if your left side piston is melting as well. Don't be surprised if the air box boot has been folded around the left carburetor, that then allows more air in than normal and leans out the left side to cause high exhaust gas temperatures. The tops of the pistons should have carbon on them except at the corners. The plugs should be medium brown. Check your main jets as well to make sure they are both the same size or X05 different, and one is not plugged up. It sounds like you ride it hard as well.

The first time I had one break was the year after I took it to the dealer ship for a bumper to bumper check and fix all that they found so the left side is all new jug and piston and I always rode it hard but I bought a new 2012 switchback pro r and my dad now rides my 05 he gets on it but nothing like me

The aluminum valves were crap on these sleds i melted one and had to have it cut out and the other actually broke off while the motor was running and made a mess of things. Replace them with the update kit and you wont have any problems with them again :)

You know i don't know for sure if they did make them for a 600 or not mine is an 800 and i just bought them last year (i even bought them directly from SLP cause i needed them cut). But the dealer had them available also so its possible they didn't have them for the 600. If you have to stick with the aluminum you are just gonna have to clean them every 500 miles or at the beginning of the year. I also switched oils. I was running amsoil intercepter but i wouldn't use that crap to oil the door hinges on my car now. I switched to redline(its ridiculously expensive) but i haven't had a problem since i switched and when i pull my valves now they are barely dirty.

EXHAUST VALVES

never made one for a 600

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

CORRECT, Aluminum only available for the 600's

Titanium, and later superseded to Stainless are for the big block 800's

Diaphragms, the orange rubber are the latest & greatest available.

As others have already posted, look for an air leak , whether it's a carb boot or crank seal, and look for piston damage

Remove the exhaust valve and shine a small flashlight in to see the piston, also do a compression check
