I bought a new project sled its a 06 Crossfire 600 the guy that was riding it was bigger and just like most of us know the running boards bowed down and then were rebent back up cracking the edges.

now im going to do the 09 rear bumper and instead of cutting up the side brackets im thinking about putting new edges on anyone put the new edges on? any complications?

Put 09 edges on a 06 a few years ago. I don't remember the specifics but it was very easy and a great upgrade. Also added the tunnel stiffeners on the inside of the boards.

I did it a couple years ago to my '06 M7. If I remember right all I had to do was drill a couple new holes

pretty straight forward install. like said above, you may have to drill some new holes. but pretty easy none the less. The four rivets that hold the old rail grips into the foot rests on the side are easier to drill out if you use a punch and punch the center out.

I figured it wouldn't be too hard but I figured someone on here had done it

05 bulkhead and a 09 tunnel on mine. If I did it again I think I'd go with a tubular aftermarket board.

Depending on your fab skills I'd look into making the new Polaris boards work... $150-$200 for takeoffs and $250 for new powder coated Burandt boards... Cant go wrong at that price.

Buy the B&M Fab boards. Look great, amazing traction and never hold snow. Check out their group buy going on now.

you guys dont get what im trying to accomplish haha....i bought this sled dirt cheap and basically im cleaning the sled up and going to sell it for a profit.

I already build 2 m series chassis with aftermarket running boards. i know how much better they are.

The first picture is the one im working on now and the other pictures are of my old M8 and my old M7

Its easy and pretty straight forward. The only issue you might run in to is that if the sled has some sort of after market snow eliminators installed the newer style rail edge might not fit. The newer edge over laps onto the standing area close to a inch more than the old style.
