04 King Cat throttle Sticking

I let my machine warm up at idle before I ride. When I get on machine to go and give a little throttle, the throttle cable feels stiff. When I let off the throttle, the cable does not retract back to idle position. The more throttle I give, the more the cable stays out. This just happens for about the first 4 minutes after I try and ride it...after that the rest of the day the throttle works good. Could there be water in the line that freezes?... Its a dangerous if someone gets on my sled without knowing about the throttle situation. Need help!

Check your throttle at the cabs to make sure there is not an issue with that. If that works fine replace the throttle cable. It is very dangerous to run a sled with a cable that may freeze up. Some lube on the cable may help but once they start letting water in, the sled and possible you have a date with destiny!

Replace the cable. I had the exact same thing going on. It will also happen when you are out ridding and the air temps drop. A new cable is about 45 bucks and took me about 1 hour to change it out. Very simple to do. Also lube your new cable before putting it in.

I have a new cable on order so I am just going to replace the throttle cable on it. Hopefully that works. Thanks for the help. If anybody has anymore ideas, let me know.
