04 King Cat Carb Help

A friend of mine needs help with his 04 King Cat
The prob- when he first starts it up it idles up at about 3000 RPM than drops down under 1000 RPM and almost dies then you have to play with the throtle to get it to come back up. When it warms up it runs fine. What to look for?also what are the factory setting for the carbs? Think it might be out of adj. by the way cleaned carbs first

That doesn't actually sound like anything wrong to me. If you are jetted correctly, then when the motor is cold, it will idle low, and be a little lean. When it warms up, you're fine.

The factory carb settings look like a 360 main jet, and a 45 or 50 pilot, depending on elevation. We lean the pilots out because IMO, they are very rich with the stock settings.
