Recently bought an '04 900 EFI 159" to take out to Wyoming next Saturday. Bought it from the guy with the key busted off in the ignition in the on position. pulled it apart last night and got the busted key out. Here's my Q. Are the keys for these sleds the standard ones that cat used in the early 2000's, where there's only a few different versions? Thanks

older sleds had a b c d
in o4 i believe there was 1 abcd, 2abcd, 3 abcd 4 abcd stamped on them.

forgot to mention, the only part of the key I've got left was what was stuck in the ignition and it doesn't have anything stamped in it that I can see. Pulled the ignition out and there's some stuff stamped into the back of that. Will any of those things help me figure out which key I need??
The key is coded to the switch. You should be able to take the switch into the dealer and they should be able to order or hook you up with a key.

brought the switch in and went through every set of keys they had. as usual, it was the last one we tried. But hey, IT WORKED! sweet
