04 800 pops and backfires

friend of mine has a 04 800 and as it idles it like to back fire and pop.sounds like it is only running on one cylinder.this just started to happend. i'm starting to think it may be eletrical cause it only does it part of the time not always.any idea would help thanks

Check TPS, & water temp sender & throttle safety switch.

Also check your key switch and the wiring that goes to it.
