I tried to use the search tool but it wasn't much help.

I plan to run my DPM still but would like to rejet so the sled isn't running rich as all get out while idling.

I ride mainly 9000 to 13000, maybe 8000 to be safe.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
As stated above, I would not touch the carb settings until you learn to read your piston wash, plugs, and fully understand what each adjustment on the carbs effects

Turn the white fuel screws IN 1/2 turn (so now at one turn out instead of 1 1/2 which is stock setting). That should be plenty since the pilot system is rather lean at sea level anyway but will be rich above 10,000 feet (need to reset the DPM jetting baseline for every 10,000 feet). If still too rich you'll have to go with smaller pilots (15's from 17.5's) but shouldn't need to do that unless you're running richer needles.

So.. How do you know you sled is rich? Are you reading the plugs? Wideband? etc????

These sleds were jetted from the factory to run at sea level as I understand it and the DPM leans you out as you get up there in the RPM's.

I am currently running some one off carbs from a start up company but I'm having issues and would like to get back to stock with better bottom end response. I've only had these carbs on for about a year and remember how lazy the bottom end is with the stock carbs.

Thanks for the reply.

I haven't studied the stock carbs, but can you get to the fuel screws while the carbs are on the sled? I've heard the easiest way to adjust your fuel/idle screw is to bump up your idle and mess with the screw till your idle hits its peak, once it does that bring your idle back down.

Therefore it's still going to idle like its at sea level and be very rich unless I rejet or adjust my fuel screw, correct? Sorry I'm thinking out loud and typing it all at the same time.

The pilot system is rather lean on Doos so if you're basing it being rich because of the bog off the line then you're just wrong with your assumption - most of us have had to go richer. If it's too rich the sled won't bog it will hesitate and won't be crisp and will gurgle. I'd be surprised if that was the case unless you've done some mods and gone with richer needles as I mentioned earlier. To get rid of the bog the fix was to go with 20 pilots and 2 turns out on fuel screws. At your altitude you should be able to just turn out the fuel screws to 2-2 1/2 turns (total) and see a diff. Either way it is an easy adjust to do so don't be afraid to play with it some; the idle system isn't critical like some on here are suggesting.

You cannot accurately adjust the fuel screws with carbs on for that sled.
