03 rmk 700 help

I just bought an 03 700 rmk with 3000 miles on it everything seems to be in good shape so far, i was just wondering what maintence i should do to it? it seems to have some oil dripping out of the exhaust manifold, right around the gasket, i was wondering if this is a thing to worry about or not? and i need to change the jets and weights in it because its set up for the mountains so any help would be appreciated.
 
Grease it up, tighten the bolts including exhaust manifold bolts. I have run Polaris Syn/Blue oil for years and no compaints. And yes, varify your jetting clutching for your elevation.
 
I have the same sled.

Do a compression check. 125 psi is the factory setting. Anything less than 115 or if you have 10 psi or greater difference between the two cylinders you need a top end.

Put boards on it if it does not already have them.

Check your VES guillotines and bellows, and clean them every 500 miles or so.
Carry spare bellows & gaskets in your tool kit. They're cheap, light and easy to replace. I've never had one tear but they do once in a while and when they go your sled will bog noticably.

Replace your chaincase oil at least every season (I do mine every 1000 miles). Consider drilling a 3/8 hole in the belly pan directly under the chaincase cover to allow for drainage when you change the oil. There's no way to do this job cleanly and I hate a sloppy, dirty engine compartment.

There are grease zerks on the trailing arm spindles.

The hood buzzes against the groove it sits in in the belly pan. This is easily dampened with 1/2 tubular weather stripping stuffed down in the groove. It will compress eventually. I replace mine every season.

Consider adding extra hood latches if you ride in the mountains

Keep it lubed and clean and it will run a long, long time.

I mine new in '04 and put nearly 6,000 miles on it (top end at 3,400)

You actually should replace the power valves for the newer s.s. ones w/updated bellows. Like said before, change the chaincase fluid but also adjust the chain as well.

I got the jets and weights changed and put 500 jets in them and 10-64 weights i think for running at 0-3000 feet, and its got a pipe and can and slp air kit, vforce2 reeds, and the heads were trued up. its got simmons flex skiis and the carbides seem pretty wore, i was wondering what carbides i need for the flex skiis, and i was wondering what oil i should run in it and what kind of chain case oil i need for it and how full to fill it?

I run the polaris blue oil in mine. Just clean your power valves every so often during the season. and chaincase oil i just run valvaline 75-90W synthetic oil, been using that for years with no problems.

They're from a good company with good customer support and I have really liked these carbides, you'll need two sets if you didn't know. Also, I use Amsoil series 2000 synthetic chaincase oil, you can tell the difference in the temp of the chaincase with this compared to the stock polaris chaincase oil which translates into cooler gears and chain. I use Amsoil Interceptor oil, it's cheap insurance to use good quality oil even though one could probably get by with cheap stuff for years. I've been very happy with Amsoil products, it's nice to not have to worry about if I use good enough lubricants and it doesn't cost much more per year when you do the math. You spent how much on a sled only to save $50-100 a year on cheap lubes=no sense.

Drive it like you stole it but only after you let it warm up good and you'll love this sled, they're bulletproof and really fun!
