03 900 Rebuild Suggestions for next year

I'm planning on rebuilding my engine this next summer and am wondering if anyone can give any testimonials to kits that they have used or different combinations. I currently have a modified stock pipe and slp can, v-force 3 reeds, and a highflow intake. The engine is stock besides these add-ons. The main thing I'm after is reliability. The kits i have been looking at are the speedwerx 1000 Big Bore Kit, The SLP Performance Package, or some port work and Mono head from RKT. Or any combination of these or anything that i should look into. Anything that any of you have ran and been pleased with, I would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks

If you're looking at big bore kits, I'd consider doing a 975 using the M1000 piston. My dad and I have been running these on three sleds, plus our 1500 triple. They've worked great and been very reliable.

Hey Thanks, I appreciate the input, I'm gonna read some of the threads on here that i found that you've posted on and I'll probably have some questions for you.

I would go the 975 route, The extra 25cc's ain't going to add to squat! Then you are stuck with their expensive pistons and not much size to go up if you really trash it. Stock M1 pistons, porting and a RKT head and basically call it good! Carb over bore and a good single pipe?

975 is awesome

I ran a 975 that had insane power with stock reliability. It had 800 cyls bored for the stock m1000 piston. It ran a rkt, special built 14 to 1 head, ran on prem. pump gas, 2 degree timing key, cpc twins front dump exhaust, efi and boondocker box! I rode the 975 for a season with just a slp single, it ran good but I thought it had some more to gain. I then changed the porting some, added the timing key and twin pipes and...... wow!!!!! I since then bought a m1000 and wish I could come close to getting the same power from it, that I pulled from the 975 in the 05 king cat!!!! I sold the 975 king, to a friend and when riding it a couple of weeks ago, back to back with my m1000, the 975 felt so much stronger that I wish my m would more like that. Unfortunatly my buddy wrecked my ole king cat on the last ride we rode on, and It is up for sale, as parts, and would be a catch for whom ever ends up with the top end. Im guessing 25 plus more seat of pants h.p. than my slightly modded M1000. I bet the 975 is pushing 200hp. Look up steveo 05 king cat parts in the 1m section.

Off topic sorry

Yeah ive ridden an m1000 stock apart from a different can, with a 153x15 powerclaw. I think my 900 stock with D&D twin pipes pulls so much harder off the line. I am thinking it might be the track though, Mines 162x16. Way more area to grip with. He trenches his alot, 153 might be too small for the 1000
