03 800 jetting, maybe ATACC?

I just picked up an 03 800 Vertical Escape and it is jetted for around 6000'. It has the SLP airbox and CPI twins. I want to go ride around 2000' sometimes. What should I run as far as jetting for this altitude?

Also, thinking about getting an ATACC from Holtzman. What would be a good set of base jets for these? I know they need to run fat, but how much?

CPI doesn't really have a jetting chart on their website like SLP does, and I was just wondering what to run.

My bud has a 2003 XC SP 800 ( purchased new) that rides in our group, 470/480 staggered jetting at 1200 ' (STOCK PIPE)

Ran it that way for 3 seasons, added the ATAAC and still running with us at 4500+ miles.

I personally have installed the ATAAC on 5 EDGE's and love the product.

My set-up: Jet for minus 20 and my BASE ELEVATION (1200') and once every 2-3 years out to YELLOWSTONE (6600'+ and) NEVER touch the jets.

There MAY be an issue with running it for your intended use. Since your "base elevation" is HIGHER than your occasional usage at LOWER elevation, usually it's the other way around.

Usually, it's intended to be used at a LOWER BASE ELEVATION, and OCCASIONALLY for higher elevation, because after 2 weeks or so at the alternate elevation, the small 1/16" line "bleeds out" and renders the compensator less effective.

That being said, I would recommend to call Barry Holtzman in Eagle River Wisconsin. He actually answers the phone personally and a wealth of knowledge.

Ok I figured he would know best. I just wasn't sure what to go with because of my twins.

Maybe this may help.

We normally ride at 1200' flat-lander, U.P. Michigan

When we had our 800 Edge's (Pre-ATAAC)and took them from 1200' to 6500'+ (Yellowstone) We would decrease the main jets 9 full sizes (480 to 390) and go 1 notch LEANER on the needles.

So, roughly speaking, if you went 9 sizes RICHER from your hi-altitude set-up, maybe that would get you in-the-ballpark?????

Assuming your jetted correctly to start with, figure 1 main jet size for every 2,000ft and/or every 20*F as a general rule.

Kv, I also have a 03' VE 800 with the attac that I installed this year. I run 470's at 2000ft and ride as high as 8000ft in the mountains. The attac works flawless. I also run run a SLP single with their air box, reeds and porting.

I have an atacc that came on my sled that I eliminated and not going to use that I'd be willing to sell. It came on an 05 800 ve
