Went riding yesterday, awesome day lots of hills & decent snow. On the way back seized up my motor. I had to let the poo tow me out. I have been needing a rebuild for about 200 miles now and I just haven't got around to it. Now that I have to I am wondering if it is worth it to bore out the cylinders and go bigger with a set of twin ringers. Let me know what you think and If you know of any places in SE Idaho that do a good job. I don't want a kit just a bigger piston. Is SLP a good place to take it to have it done. You don't see too many SLP Ski Doos. It has crankshop twins Vforce reeds porting done by a local shop and the head has been milled. .

I have the 827 kit from RK tech they also make a 860 kit . they are located in preston idaho . great products dont know if they install but should know of someone. Look at thier web site lots of good info on this upgrade They do offer a piston only kit
827 is for the 800 HO motor (what you have). The 860 kit won't fit your sled... will only work on the newer "R" engines... I have 827 but won't know how hard it pulls until April... far away from the mountains right now!

Mine isn't an HO I don't think. I think the HO came out in 03. I am pretty sure. My sled is jacked though. I busted it loose and then It started and ran for a second. then seized again. So I don't know what to do. Does any one know of a good place to take it. SLP is like ten minutes away. Has anyone ever had them work on their Doos??

SLP has kits for the 800R motor, but hadn't ever heard of them doing anything with the 800. Maybe, ask them.
If you want a bigger bore, your'e gonna have to have them hogged out and replated anyway, might as well give Kelsey at RK Tech a shout in Preston,ID.
I had BJ build me his 840HO when my crank went a couple years ago, gonna want to get that checked out if you have an 02.

how much did the 840 kit run you??? Is yours an HO now. Just out of curiosity what is the difference. Just porting isn't it? I figure on a big bore kit seeing as I am going to have to rebore the cylinders anyway. I figure just through a bigger piston in.
The difference is porting and the ignition system is better in 03... porting can move a non HO motor to be like the HO in 03
