is there anyway to bypass the water temp sensor. was looking over my sled today and barely touched the wire and it pulled right out of the connector??

I did the same thing to my 03 900 and it happened out on the trail and I used electrical tape and alot of it and it hasnt fallen apart yet and that was after i tried to solder it back together and do it the right way and I dont think you wana bypass it or ride with it unhooked because if im not mistaking it will mess with your computer because it doesnt know how hot it is running and changes the timing

how much bare wire was sticking out?? i have maybe a 1/16" not much IMO. but that electrical tape might work but i think im gunna put some silicone around it to.

If you still have the plug you can take the metal sleave that the wire is hooked too out of the plastic plug. It takes a little doing but i was able to get the metal insert out and reconnect the wire to the metal and i soldered it the first time and the next trip out it vibrated or something and broke off again, so out on the trail i got the metal out of the plug again and taped the wire to the metal and put the metal clip with the wire back on the stud on the sensor withouth the plastic around it and taped the crap out of it and it never fell off yet so if it aint broke for the 3rd time dont fix it i guess.
