02 censor

I did a pipe swap and that censor that plugs into the pipe.. the threads are screwed.. how important is the censor and what do i do to go abouts changing it. Any help would be great.. thanks

The pipe sensor is kinda important...the ECU leans the sled 4-5% when the pipe sensor gets to temp. If you can't clean up the threads then you need a new one. Put never seize on the threads and don't over tighten the new one-they are stainless and gall easily.
 
Try running a tap in it to clean up the threads. It takes a metric tap, a 12mm x 1.25mm thread. If your sensor end is screwed you can buy a metric bolt with those threads, cut it to length, drill straight through it so your sensor fits through it and take the wires apart and run it through the hole in the bolt. Your hole must be centered very well. I drilled mine halfways from each end with a small bit and then reamed it out slowly to the proper size. I did this last year and it worked great and is still working. Good luck.
